Vinegar Hill Lead Mine
One of Galena's major industries in the early days was lead mining. Vinegar Hill Lead Mine offers visitors a guided trip through an old lead mine. Early mining techniques, equipment and dangers are some of the subjects discussed on the tour. The mine is open daily from June until Augusts and on weekends in May, September and October, from 9am until 5pm.
